About Us
Emily Matson, Principal Consultant
Emily brings over 15 years of cross-sector experience in global markets, technology and strategy. With leadership roles at Google and Bloomberg, she specializes in launching and scaling high-growth initiatives internationally, implementing global business strategy and building strong teams.
At Google, Emily was the global Head of Economic and Business Intelligence, a data-driven advisory that helped Google clients with their international expansion strategies. She built and led the advisory business to become a core offering of the International Growth Department. At Google for Education, Emily managed the technical Global Impact team responsible for all of Google’s educator programs worldwide. Prior to Google, Emily worked at Bloomberg where she helped define and build the company’s business in Emerging Markets and led global strategic initiatives.
Emily also worked at the Institute of International Education, the United Nations Capital Development Fund, Peace Corps Ecuador and was a Montessori teacher. She is published in Bloomberg Markets Magazine, Bloomberg News and Microfinance for Bankers and Investors.
Emily earned a dual Bachelor’s degree in International Studies and History from Northwestern University and a Master’s degree in International Economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). It is her personal and professional commitment to help companies bridge the global access-to-opportunity divide at scale through education, skills and technology.
